What is WRC?

Canadian western red cedar has a strong, distinctive grain. The colours vary widely from dark chocolate brown to light pink. With a durability class 2, it has an anticipated service life of 50+ years (untreated). The boards are relatively free of knots giving a clean and contemporary appearance.

How to order cladding

When enquiring, to help us create a quotation quicker we need to know the following. Please dont hesitate to phone if you need help deciding, we want you to be happy with the end result

1. Select Timber Species

Choose from a variety of species; Abodo, Siberian Larch, European Larch, Cedar, Oak. Selecting is all down to personal choice (and budget!)

2. Select Profile

What appearance do you want your facade or timber clad project to look? All profiles will give off a different look, we can do all profiles with our on-site tooling station, but ask us if your having difficulty deciding

3. Select type of finish

Choose from a dressed, fine sawn or sawn finish. IF you are planning on staining/oiling/painting then a fine sawn/sawn is highly recommended

4. Coatings (optional)

All timber will weather to grey/silver in time. Fact. Do you want to prevent this or accelarate the weathering process? We can factory coat your cladding and recommend coating to achieve your desired aesthetic. (OSMO) wood stains provide the highest protection against the sun compared to oils.

4. Extras (optional)

Looking for something unique? Ask us about our riven effect (free of charge) textured finishes we can apply to your cladding! We are also the UK & Ireland agents for Holz Technic by Rothoblaas and can supply you with all the fixings you need. Last but not least, make your corners stand out by asking us about our different corner details

4. Delivery Location (important)

In order for us to work out an accurate delivery charge we need to know the site location and if there is suitable access for an arctic lorry – other arrangements can be made if there is limited access

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Some species of timber will weather quicker than others. We can offer an OSMO UV Protector which will give the most protection against the sun. Ask us for more information and costs

Normally the lead times if you aren’t receiving treatment is 7-14 days upon placing an order. If your cladding is being sent to have treatment factory applied this could take a further 3-4 weeks

The 2 popular profiles we are constantly machining are the WB12 (vertically fitted) and WB10 (both vertical and horizontally fitted) because they offer a secret fixing. The WB12 can also be machined with a centre and offset groove which gives a mixed width illusion
