A 1960s coastal property in Anstruther has been transformed through a contemporary renovation and wraparound extension, creating a light-filled home that makes the most of its surroundings.
Abodo Vulcan timber cladding brings warmth and texture to the exterior, complementing the clean architectural lines and coastal setting. A defining feature of the design is the continuation of the timber from outside to inside, creating a seamless visual connection between the building’s exterior and interior spaces.
The natural character of the timber softens the contemporary design, adding depth and consistency throughout the home while reinforcing the connection to its coastal surroundings.
Completed in 2023, the renovation combines considered material selection with energy-efficient design, achieving an impressive A-rated Energy Performance Certificate. The project was also featured on BBC Scotland’s Home of the Year in 2025.
